New Year, New Hobby: Could you help us launch Squirrels in Cookham?

Date: 4th Jan 2022 Author: Andrew Sutherland

The Scouts are launching a new section, Squirrels, for 4 and 5 year olds.  Squirrel meetings will be a brilliant opportunity for young people to take their first step into Scouting, and they’ll help everyone get ready for the adventure of school too.  Sessions will be packed with outdoors activities, fun, games, badges, laughter, and so much more to help our youngest members learn the skills they need for life.   Scout Groups can now apply to launch their Squirrel Dreys and Cookham are keen to get going, but we need some extra adult help to make it happen.   There will be lots of help from the Scout Group and enough training to make sure you are confident in delivering a great programme.   Could you help us launch Squirrels in Cookham?   If so, please contact Mike Day on gsl@scoutscookham.org.uk

Volunteering’s not just about giving back – the benefits go both ways.  We know that volunteering is #GoodForYou because when you volunteer, you’ll:

  • Do something good for your community and yourself
  • Gain skills for the future
  • Spend time with your children or gain experience with young people
  • Make friends
  • Make memories
Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
