A big Scout Group like 1st Cookham is always in need of more help.  We have a variety of roles both working with our sections and working behind the scenes on admin, fundraising and looking after our premises.  Cookham are a friendly group, welcoming to new people, and we will provide all the training needed to take up any role.  For those helpers between 18 and 25 there is also the opportunity to continue working on the Queen’s Scout Award and the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.

Currently, we are particularly keen to get additional help with:

  • Running Cookham Explorer Scouts, our section for 14- 18 year olds
  • Helping with the maintenance of our Headquarters, anything from doing occasional gardening to managing major improvement projects.

Interested in helping us?  Please reach out via the Join Scouts today button on this page.  You can take the 4 Week Challenge:

Week 1: See what we get up to

Week 2: Start to help out

Week 3: Get a little more involved

Week 4: You’ll know if Scouting is for you

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
